Grind Projects’ Team

Our Team

We love what we do, we live what we do. Build to Grind!

Grind Projects is owned and operated by skateboarders. We are united by our shared passion for creating skateparks to get the next generation juiced on the sport that continually drives us.

We are proud to say that our team of dedicated Skatepark Builders are some of the best in Australia.

The Grind Projects team runs so efficiently because our team remains small and consistent. Each member of the Grind Projects family brings a unique skill set, shares the same values and work ethic, has a passion, and collectively keep the wheels of operation turning.

Steve Kelly, Director

Steve has been deeply involved in the Australian Skateboarding community for over 20 years. You might know him as ‘SHOOTA’. He now spends his days running the Grind Projects show.

Before starting Grind Projects, Steve spent years working with some of the top Skatepark building companies in Australia and can put his name to some of the most inspiring Skateparks in the country.

Steve is passionate about creating skateparks with a focus on quality. He takes a very hands on approach, leading from the front line. His approach ensures there is continuous and clear communication between client and builder.

Ben Hermans

Benny is an all-round gun! He has an eye for detail and a unique brain that’s geared for problem-solving.

Benny has worked on skateparks across Australia and further afield, he’s been involved with a number of charity park builds across the globe and loves the daily challenges faced on site.

Louis Marshall

Louis is our UK recruit. He jumped straight off the plane and straight into a hand stacked backyard bowl we were working on.

He’s a unit! Strong as an Ox, but light on his feet – he’s a technical wizard on a board!

Louis works hard and will always do it with a smile on his face (and a sandwich under his hat).

Daniel Moynihan

Dan is our true blue Aussie grafter! A hard day’s grind won’t get him down.

After spending years as a carpenter, he transferred those skills into skatepark building, he’s a formwork champion and our set up whiz.

Dan’s not afraid to throw his body at the ‘crete on his board either!

"

Steve and his crew were an efficient and hardworking team who often worked long days and over the weekends to ensure timelines were met. Having the company director ‘on the tools’ was a real benefit for Council as the client, as any issues arising were able to be efficiently addressed. A further key strength of Grind was their attention to detail that obviously comes from a passion for skating.

Working with Steve from Grind Projects was a fantastic experience. Steve’s knowledge of Skatepark construction and its end uses ensured that the community received a world-class skate facility. The new skatepark is a popular hangout and is enjoyed by the local community. I highly recommend Grind Projects for your next Skate facility.
