What we do

Concrete Skatepark Construction & Custom Builds

Anna Bay

Anna Bay

  • CLIENT: Port Stephens Council, NSW
  • LOCATION: Anna Bay, NSW
  • CONSTRUCTION PERIOD: 6 weeks

The Robinson reserve skatepark in Anna Bay was a fun little design and construction project that is a good example of how we can work effectively to a given budget. We worked closely with the Port Stephens council to meet the project brief, budget, and timeframe. The end result is a fun little skatepark in a beautiful spot. We can’t wait to go back for a skate!

Carrum Downs

Carrum Downs

  • CLIENT: Frankston City Council, VIC
  • LOCATION: Carrum Downs, VIC
  • CONSTRUCTION PERIOD: 8 weeks
The Sandfield reserve skatepark in Carrum downs was a great design and construction project really driven by the community. Grind Projects and Baseplate design worked closely with Frankston City Council and the local community, holding a community consultation at the local high school to get a clear idea of what the local skaters wanted from their new park.

We worked with a limited budget that we were determined to stretch as far as we could to deliver a skatepark that stood out from those around it and would offer new challenges to users of the existing park. Construction was completed within 8 weeks, as anticipated. Upon completion, all parties – Grind Projects, Baseplate, and the local users skated the new park together and we can confidently say it’s a hit! The park has been so well received by council and local users, that additional funding for a further extension is underway.

WERRIBEE STREET

WERRIBEE STREET

  • CLIENT: Ace Landscape services Pty Ltd
  • LOCATION: Werribee, Vic
  • CONSTRUCTION PERIOD: 12 weeks

The Werribee Street skatepark was part of a railway crossing removal project, so presented plenty of challenges throughout construction, including height restrictions, columns and access. The outcome is amazing!

The design, by Baseplate utilises the space incredibly, the columns have become features in themselves, creating a unique skatepark unlike any other in Victoria. It caters to complete beginners and still allows for progression. We have already seen some of Australia’s most iconic skateboarders using it to its full potential.

Bairnsdale

Bairnsdale

  • CLIENT: East Gippsland Shire Council, VIC
  • LOCATION: Bairnsdale, VIC
  • CONSTRUCTION PERIOD: 12 weeks
Davison Oval Skatepark in Bairnsdale was recently completed. It was a design and construction project that we worked on with Darren of Baseplate design. The park is already set to be a destination Skatepark. Receiving incredible feedback through social media and local users. The finish is impeccable, it is a good representation of how we believe all skateparks should be finished. Sharp edges and mirror finishes make the park not only aesthetically pleasing but have the skateboarding community buzzing with anticipation!

Steve and his crew were an efficient and hardworking team who often worked long days and over the weekends to ensure timelines were met. Having the company director ‘on the tools’ was a real benefit for Council as the client, as any issues arising were able to be efficiently addressed. A further key strength of Grind was their attention to detail that obviously comes from a passion for skating.

— Andrew Mullen, Frankston City Council
Senior infrastructure project manager
